Mobile marketing transparency means different things to different people. Transparency refers to the elements of a marketing campaign that are visible to the advertiser. For example, by enabling agency transparency, marketers gain insight into where the media purchased through their agencies is running, what was actually paid, and how these campaigns are performing.
Unfortunately, mobile advertising transparency is a topic of discussion in mobile fraud. Many ad networks consider their sub-publisher lists to be proprietary data and show advertisers an anonymized site ID rather than an actual sub-publisher. Some networks go so far as to show different anonymized site IDs for each campaign or advertiser. This semi-opaque approach allows fraudsters and criminals to hide behind a veil of anonymity.« Back to Glossary Index
